Fine limited-edition art print of my painting 'Gene in Blue'. Features deep blues and purples, captured in archival ink. The colours are guaranteed to stay true for a lifetime. Limited-edition of just 125.
'Gene in Blue' is my new portrait of 1940s actress Gene Tierney. She's one of a series of portraits called 'How to be Beautiful'. These paintings explore our ideals of female beauty... and how they shape how we see ourselves. Gene was a Film Noir star whose life reads like one of her roles. In 1957 she stepped onto a balcony intending to kill herself, but was saved by 'vanity. I thought of what I’d look like when I hit the ground'.
Here you can see 'Gene in Blue' in our square addition, with two available sizes. Both fit Ikea's largest square 'Ribba' frame in 50cm (as photographed). The 30cm size fits within the mount, the 50cm print fills the entire frame.
