Fine limited-edition art print of my painting 'Gene in Blue'. Features deep blues and purples, captured in archival ink. The colours are guaranteed to stay true for a lifetime. Limited-edition of just 125.
'Gene in Blue' is my new portrait of 1940s actress Gene Tierney. She's one of a series of portraits called 'How to be Beautiful'. These paintings explore our ideals of female beauty... and how they shape how we see ourselves. Gene was a Film Noir star whose life reads like one of her roles. In 1957 she stepped onto a balcony intending to kill herself, but was saved by 'vanity. I thought of what I’d look like when I hit the ground'.
You'll find 'Gene in Blue' in two available sizes, 30 x 40 cm and 50 x 70cm (photographed). Both fit widely-available frames including those in Ikea's 'Ribba' collection. You'll also find an edition of Gene as a square print which works well when grouped as a gallery wall.
